Lawang Sewu Semarang

Two other government agencies also had an office here, the Regional Office of the Ministry of Transportation Central Java and the Office of National Infrastructure Military Command IV / Diponegoro.
At that time and until now, the community of Semarang call the building as "Lawang Sewu" because it has a lot of doors. In the Java language, "mace" means the door and "sewu" means a thousand. Literally, it means a thousand doors. But in fact the doors of this building does not amount to a thousand.
